QUOTE: PJ SOSKO | ACTOR | ORANGE ALERT
“Ya know it’s funny…we as actors are supposed to have tricks in our bag to bring our characters to life, but in certain cases the role just fits. And the most important thing is to not overcomplicate the experience and just get the hell out of the way of where the playwrights words and actions lead you.
That’s the case with Pete….
I’ve had the opportunity to play a lot of other blue collar - no nonsense - straight shooters over the years. One project in particular I’ve been involved with over the last 3 years is a piece called Reentry. It’s regional Off-Broadway and performs on military bases in front of thousands. These types of audiences are the real deal staring back at you and require an unflinching performance
Orange Alert demands the same acting commitment in that I must be willing to reflect the truth back to the audience even though I’ve never really lived it and that’s a lot of pressure. But its all worth it when a thousand audience members, shout “ooo rah” in unison back at you about something you said in character….still gives me goosebumps.
The acknowledgement makes all the hard work worth it.”
